On the 26th April the Intermediate department went to the
Auckland Museum to find out more about Anzac day and what it means. We went
there by foot. When we arrived we went up to the fourth floor
(Scars of the Heart) and split off to complete our activity
sheets given to us earlier that day. Everyone learned lots and found out stuff
about their ancestors and how tough it was to live in the time of a war.
We learned about how NZ began as a nation, the Boer wars in South Africa, prejudice in World War 2,
the Korean wars and much more. Everyone had fun, learned lots and enjoyed the
trip. I'm sure that all of us would like to go again.
